The top two teams in the Class 5A girls basketball rankings will meet Wednesday when No. 1 Bishop Gorman (14-1) hosts No. 2 Democracy Prep (9-5) at 5:30 p.m.

Bishop Gorman holds the top spot in this week’s Nevada Preps rankings, released Monday. Democracy Prep, which has lost five games, sits second. Centennial (11-5) is third, followed by Liberty (14-9) and Shadow Ridge (6-5).

In boys basketball, Liberty (15-5) remains No. 1 in 5A, with Bishop Gorman (12-7) at No. 2. Coronado (9-7) is third after a 62-60 overtime win over Democracy Prep on Wednesday. Desert Pines (13-6) and Mojave (14-5) round out the top five.

Key boys games this week include Liberty at Mojave on Tuesday and Democracy Prep at Bishop Gorman on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

In flag football, Shadow Ridge (14-1) tops the 5A rankings, followed by Desert Oasis (12-1). Arbor View (14-2) is third, Palo Verde (14-4) fourth, and Liberty (10-2) fifth. A notable game Wednesday has Liberty at Shadow Ridge.

Class 4A and 3A rankings for all three sports are also updated. Complete schedules for the week are listed below.
