Liberty’s flag football team improved to 4-0 with a 36-24 win at Bishop Gorman on Friday night. The Patriots capitalized on big plays in the second half to pull away from the Gaels.
In boys basketball, Tech sophomore Jaxson Grant erupted for 39 points in a 76-69 victory over Valley. The Roadrunners improved to 3-2 with the win.
Basic beat Civica 69-50 behind 15 points from senior Hudson Yakubik. The Meadows cruised past GV Christian 71-44 as junior Alex Hutchinson scored 18 points.
On the girls side, Cimarron-Memorial junior Kyrra Atkinson-Gray stuffed the stat sheet with 23 points, 11 rebounds, eight steals, seven assists and two blocks in a 74-20 win over Cheyenne. Sierra Vista senior Donnayja Gibson scored 23 points in a 74-21 rout of Clark. Las Vegas sophomore Sariyah Johnson posted 21 points and 19 rebounds in a 60-35 win over Eldorado. Liberty senior Portland Stacey had 12 points and eight rebounds in a 68-28 victory over Desert Pines. Del Sol senior Morgan White scored 21 points in a 73-12 win over Sloan Canyon.
In flag football, Green Valley senior Lyla Baxter caught eight passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns and added an interception in a 33-7 win over Del Sol. Durango senior Leiah Biscocho threw two TD passes and caught two scoring passes in a 48-0 win over Pahrump Valley. Canyon Springs sophomore Se’Torri Centers completed 13 of 29 passes for 242 yards and four touchdowns in a 31-0 win over Civica. Cadence junior Patricia Monacelli caught four passes for 104 yards in an 18-13 win over Sloan Canyon. Shadow Ridge senior Jaylani Palmer threw a TD pass, caught a TD pass and intercepted two passes in a 25-21 win over Coronado.
Other notable scores: Boulder City boys beat Pahrump Valley 79-63; Western edged Palo Verde 54-53; Democracy Prep girls defeated Coronado 61-33; Desert Oasis girls beat Durango 63-29; Losee girls topped Mater East 66-55; and Virgin Valley girls routed Moapa Valley 77-14.
