Monday’s high school basketball slate saw multiple standout performances across Southern Nevada, with Cheyenne’s Phoenix Dalton and Las Vegas’ Amari Hinds among the top scorers.
Boys basketball
Cheyenne edged Sky Pointe 64-59 behind junior Phoenix Dalton’s 15 points. Las Vegas cruised past Rancho 82-43, led by junior Amari Hinds’ game-high 22 points. Foothill’s Rajaughn Hodges, a junior, scored 14 in a 79-27 rout of Sloan Canyon. Palo Verde’s Ethan Inocencio, a senior, poured in 23 points but the Panthers fell to Durango 60-50. Gregory Paige, a senior at Canyon Springs, posted 16 points, five assists and three rebounds in a 65-48 win over Bonanza. Legacy junior Jordyn Perdue exploded for 27 points in an 82-73 victory against Shadow Ridge. Faith Lutheran senior Dash Wiley notched 31 points to lead the Crusaders past Mojave 65-56.
Girls basketball
Foothill’s Stephanie Ezugha, a sophomore, contributed nine points and nine rebounds as the Falcons crushed Sloan Canyon 62-8. Basic defeated Cadence 50-33.
Flag football
Desert Oasis edged Sierra Vista 19-13.
