The Las Vegas Raiders kicked off voluntary workouts this week with a transformed offensive roster, reflecting the team’s aggressive offseason overhaul after a 3-14 season. New head coach Klint Kubiak is installing his systems, and the group on the field looks drastically different from the one that finished last year.

Quarterbacks

The Raiders added veteran Kirk Cousins as a mentor for No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza, who is expected to be the franchise quarterback. Aidan O’Connell and Jacob Clark round out the depth chart. The key questions are when Mendoza will start and whether the team will carry only two quarterbacks on the active roster.

Running Backs

Ashton Jeanty leads a backfield that includes draft pick Mike Washington Jr., a home-run threat. Dylan Laube and Chris Collier are special-teams contributors, while Roman Hemby brings chemistry with Mendoza from Indiana. Fullback Connor Heyward fills a role Kubiak values.

Wide Receivers

Speed is the hallmark of a receiver corps lacking a true No. 1. Tre Tucker, Jack Bech, Jalen Nailor, Dont’e Thornton Jr., and Malik Benson can stretch the field. Jonathan Brady played with Mendoza at Cal and Indiana, and Chase Roberts offers contested-catch ability.

Tight Ends

Brock Bowers, a superstar who played through a knee injury last season, anchors the league’s most complete tight end group. Michael Mayer is a capable blocker and would start elsewhere. Ian Thomas and Carter Runyon provide depth.

Tackles

Kolton Miller’s health is critical at left tackle. DJ Glaze, a two-year starter, should benefit from Kubiak’s system. Charles Grant is an intriguing candidate to take a leap, while the depth spots are open.

Interior Line

Free-agent addition Tyler Linderbaum stabilizes the center position with leadership and communication. Jackson Powers-Johnson, Caleb Rogers, Spencer Burford, and rookie Trey Zuhn III will compete at guard. Jordan Meredith is a better fit in the new scheme.
