The Athletics are bringing up outfield prospect Henry Bolte, the team’s No. 5 minor leaguer, after a torrid May with the Las Vegas Aviators that included a 12-consecutive-hit streak and a 479-foot home run.
Bolte will join the A’s in West Sacramento before their series against the St. Louis Cardinals, sources confirmed Monday. The 22-year-old second-round pick from the 2022 draft has been on a tear since the calendar turned, hitting .595 with five home runs and six stolen bases in May, earning Pacific Coast League player of the week honors.
“He’s just a special talent, and he’s putting it all together,” Aviators manager Fran Riordan said. “At the dish, on the bases, he’s an absolute terror, and he’s getting more comfortable in center field.”
Bolte leads all minor and major leaguers in runs, and is tied with Miami Marlins’ Otto Lopez for most hits (55) and with former A’s first baseman Matt Olson in total bases (104). His recent surge includes a 5-for-5 game with two homers, and back-to-back nights with 15 and 13 total bases. On Saturday, he broke the Aviators’ 32-year-old record for consecutive hits with 12 straight.
Last season, wrist issues sapped Bolte’s power, but he appears fully healthy now. In Wednesday’s 11-2 loss to the St. Paul Saints, he crushed a 479-foot homer off Mike Paredes — the longest by any Triple-A batter this season. For context, former Aviators catcher Shea Langeliers’ 467-foot homer last month is the longest in the majors in 2026.
