Josh Berry Wins Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Josh Berry took the checkered flag in Sunday’s Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, scoring his first career NASCAR Cup Series victory. The 34-year-old driver led a race-high 87 laps and held off a late charge from Denny Hamlin to win by 0.742 seconds.

“This is a dream come true,” Berry said. “These guys never gave up on me, and we put it all together today.”

The win was the first for Berry, who joined Wood Brothers Racing this season after spending two years with Stewart-Haas Racing. He became the seventh different winner in the first eight races of 2025.

Hamlin finished second, followed by Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, and William Byron. Polesitter Joey Logano led early but faded to 12th after a pit-road penalty.

The race featured seven cautions for 42 laps. Berry took the lead for good on lap 241 when he beat Larson off pit road during a round of green-flag stops.

“We had the car to beat today,” crew chief Rodney Childers said. “Josh drove a perfect race.”

Berry’s victory also locked him into the Cup Series playoffs. Las Vegas Motor Speedway will host the fall playoff race on October 12.
