The Baltimore Ravens moved quickly to shore up their pass rush, agreeing to a four-year, $112 million contract with edge rusher Trey Hendrickson, a person with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press on Wednesday. The move came just hours after the Ravens pulled out of a blockbuster trade for Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby.
The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the contract cannot be finalized until the start of the new league year at 4 p.m. EDT. The deal reunites Hendrickson with defensive coordinator Zach Orr, who previously coached him in Baltimore’s system.
Baltimore backed out of the Crosby trade late Tuesday after the star edge rusher failed his physical, according to a person with knowledge of the decision. The Ravens had agreed to send two first-round draft picks to the Raiders for Crosby, but the failed physical voided the trade.
With those picks retained, Baltimore pivoted to the best available pass rusher on the market. Hendrickson, a four-time Pro Bowler, earned All-Pro honors in 2024 when he led the NFL with 17.5 sacks. Injuries limited him to seven games last season, where he recorded four sacks.
The 31-year-old has 81 sacks over nine seasons with New Orleans and Cincinnati. He reached double-digit sacks four times, including back-to-back 17.5-sack campaigns in 2023 and 2024.
