Monday’s high school sports slate featured blowout wins, extra-inning drama and standout individual performances across baseball, softball and boys volleyball.
Baseball
Faith Lutheran senior Kingston Kela homered, tripled and drove in three runs as the Crusaders routed Bishop O’Dowd (Calif.) 15-3. Spring Valley freshman Braydon Perez went 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs in a 19-0 three-inning win over Valley. Silverado senior Marek Piekarski had three hits, including a double, and five RBIs in an 18-0 four-inning victory against Del Sol. Canyon Springs junior Isaiah Rogers slugged two home runs and collected six RBIs in a 17-4 five-inning win over Desert Pines. Green Valley junior Jet McNelis homered, doubled and had two RBIs in a 7-2 win over Monte Vista (Calif.).
Softball
Bishop Gorman junior Makamae Eugenio hit a home run and earned the pitching win as the Gaels edged Doral Academy 12-11 in eight innings. Legacy senior Madison Castellon went 3-for-3 with a homer, double and two RBIs in an 18-0 three-inning rout of Sunrise Mountain. Faith Lutheran freshman Madison Pitts homered, drove in two and scored twice in a 17-2 three-inning win over Cheyenne. SLAM! Nevada sophomore Naima Ralston went 4-for-5 with a home run, double and five RBIs in an 18-17 loss to Silverado. Boulder City senior Payton Rogers went 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs in a 15-0 three-inning win over The Meadows.
Boys volleyball
Basic senior Ty Hardy recorded 13 digs, 11 kills and one ace to lead the Wolves past Boulder City 25-20, 25-22, 25-16. Arbor View junior Keagan Sugden tallied 30 assists, seven digs and two blocks in a 25-15, 25-16, 25-12 sweep of Spring Valley. Green Valley junior Alex Abad posted eight digs and two aces in a 25-12, 25-18, 22-25, 25-15 loss to Centennial. Boulder City senior David Zwhalen finished with 11 digs, seven kills and a block in a 25-20, 25-22, 25-16 loss to Basic.

In baseball, Sierra Vista edged Las Vegas 6-5, Clark beat Taft (Calif.) 14-2, and Virgin Valley shut out Moapa Valley 15-0. In softball, Pahrump Valley blanked Democracy Prep 15-0. In boys volleyball, Sloan Canyon defeated Bishop Gorman 3-2.
