Steel rises as Athletics’ $2B Las Vegas ballpark takes shape on Strip

The Athletics’ future home on the Las Vegas Strip is becoming visible above the fence line, with steel framing now climbing on the lower concourse and upper decks of the $2 billion ballpark at the former Tropicana site.

As of Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the lower concourse deck has nearly completed its full circle around the 9-acre site, while steel for suite spaces continues to advance around the second deck level.

“The bowl of steel on the third and fourth deck is now visible,” said A’s president Marc Badain. “You can see it over the fence line. The workforce has done an amazing job. They feel really good about where they are.”

The second level decking, which will support the 33,000-fan capacity stadium, is about 60 percent built out around the site.

Crews have also begun assembling steel trusses for the roof on the ground. Badain noted that a piece of steel truss is already on site, though it may be hidden from the ballpark cam behind walls. “They’re starting to put some of those larger pieces of steel together that will ultimately be lifted and form the roof,” he said.

Placement of the steel roof is tentatively scheduled to begin in early June, according to the team’s construction timeline. The project remains on budget and on schedule for an early 2028 opening.
