Gavin Gottschall and Steve Alvarado each drove in two runs as No. 8 Foothill defeated No. 9 Green Valley 9-4 in a Class 5A baseball clash Wednesday at Burkholder Park.

The Falcons improved to 13-5 overall and 1-0 in the 5A Desert League, while the Gators fell to 12-5 and 0-3 in league play.

Foothill’s field is undergoing renovations, so the game was moved to Burkholder Park in Henderson.

The two teams are scheduled to meet again Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Green Valley.
