Faith Lutheran junior Liam Radke struck out 12 batters and pitched a complete-game no-hitter Monday, leading the Crusaders to a 6-0 victory over Durango. Radke’s dominant outing was supported by senior Kingston Kela, who homered twice and drove in five runs.
Silverado senior Giovanni Guariglia also had a big day at the plate, hitting two home runs and collecting four RBIs to help the Skyhawks defeat Coronado 10-5. Basic’s Matthew Kelley contributed a home run, a double and three RBIs in the Wolves’ 14-3 win over Desert Oasis in six innings.
Bishop Gorman junior Connor Long went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs as the Gaels rolled past La Salle (Oregon) 12-1 in five innings. Clark sophomore Rylan Swanbeck went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs in the Chargers’ 12-3 victory over Boulder City.
In softball, Clark junior Sophia DeMonbrun tossed a three-inning no-hitter and also hit a home run, a triple and drove in three runs to lead the Chargers past Eldorado 15-0. Bishop Gorman junior Makamae Eugenio pitched a complete-game one-hitter in the Gaels’ 2-0 win over Foothill. Coronado junior Summer Gilliam went 4-for-4 with two triples and an RBI as the Cougars defeated Basic 4-2. Virgin Valley senior Davie Slack went 4-for-5 with a double, a triple and four RBIs to lead the Bulldogs to a 14-4 victory over Pine View (Utah).
In boys volleyball, Basic senior Derek Dennett logged 23 assists, three digs, two kills and a block to help the Wolves sweep Legacy 25-16, 25-21, 25-18. Foothill senior Yeheshua Ruiz finished with 20 kills and four blocks as the Falcons outlasted Coronado 25-18, 25-27, 22-25, 25-21, 15-12. Virgin Valley senior Parker Jensen had seven kills, four digs and two service aces in the Bulldogs’ 25-20, 25-16, 25-7 loss to Pine View (Utah).
