The Las Vegas Raiders have reopened trade talks for star defensive end Maxx Crosby, but the market looks markedly different than it did a week ago. Back then, the Raiders secured a blockbuster offer from the Baltimore Ravens that included two first-round picks, one of which was in the top half of the 2025 draft. That deal fell through, and now the Raiders are navigating a landscape where cap space and draft capital are scarce, and a negative medical opinion on Crosby—who is coming off his eighth surgery in seven seasons at age 28—has weakened their leverage.
Despite these hurdles, several teams remain in the mix. Here are the most likely suitors.
Chicago Bears
The Bears were the betting favorites to land Crosby before Baltimore swooped in. Chicago has limited cap space but could create flexibility, and they have yet to address their pass rush in free agency. Believing their competitive window is opening, the Bears could be motivated to make a splash.
Dallas Cowboys
Reports from Dallas suggest the Cowboys have moved on, but recent roster moves hint otherwise. Dallas traded defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa on Wednesday, freeing about $4.5 million in cap space, and also shipped Solomon Thomas to the Titans in a pick swap. While these moves alone don’t clear enough room for Crosby, they fuel speculation that a bigger deal may be brewing. Odighizuwa had been mentioned in trade discussions between the Cowboys and Raiders.
San Francisco 49ers
Buzz at the NFL scouting combine linked the 49ers to Crosby. San Francisco is in win-now mode and could upgrade its pass rush, though they just added Odighizuwa to bolster the interior. A trade with a division rival might be uncomfortable for Raiders fans, but the front office is focused on the best return.
Philadelphia Eagles
A deal between Raiders GM John Spytek and Eagles GM Howie Roseman—whom Spytek has called a mentor—would be intriguing. The Eagles would need salary-cap gymnastics but have tradeable assets like A.J. Brown or Jalen Carter. Creative proposals could emerge.
While the Raiders might ultimately keep Crosby, the team is listening to offers, and a deal remains possible.
