Maxx Crosby learned of Raiders trade en route to Power Slap event, Dana White says

UFC CEO Dana White revealed Sunday night that Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby discovered he had been traded to the Baltimore Ravens while on his way to Friday’s Power Slap event at Fontainebleau Las Vegas.

White said he called Crosby after seeing news of the deal—which sends Crosby to Baltimore for two first-round picks—break on social media as he himself was arriving at the venue. Crosby was also pulling in and had not been informed beforehand.

“He found out at the same time. He didn’t know, either,” White said after Sunday’s Zuffa Boxing show at the Apex. “So we talked about it, but he turned around and went home and told me he was going to lay low for a few days.”

Crosby, a regular at combat sports events, had been on the guest list for Friday’s Power Slap but was not seen in the venue. He also missed his usual seat near White at Saturday’s UFC event at T-Mobile Arena. Social media videos showed him attending a party Saturday celebrating his sobriety anniversary.

White said Crosby, an avid combat sports fan, told him he plans to remain in Las Vegas. “He loves it here, and he told me he just paid his house off, so he’s not going anywhere,” White said. “He’s going to continue to live in Las Vegas, but he’s excited about the potential in Baltimore of possibly winning a Super Bowl. I’m really happy for him.”
