Maxx Crosby trade buzz intensifies ahead of NFL combine

The NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis is expected to be dominated by speculation about Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby, whose trade availability has never seemed more plausible. Rumors of a potential move have persisted for years, but the frustration of the 2025 season has fueled fresh chatter.

The Raiders are reportedly seeking two first-round picks plus a premium player in exchange for the star pass rusher. That high asking price reflects both Crosby’s elite production and the team’s leverage: they can simply keep him if no offer meets their demands.

Several teams are positioned to make aggressive bids. The New England Patriots, coming off a surprising Super Bowl run, could offer two first-rounders and cornerback Marcus Jones. The Chicago Bears, desperate to upgrade a weak pass rush, might package two firsts and receiver D.J. Moore. The Detroit Lions, where Crosby grew up and played college ball, could include players like Jameson Williams or Tate Ratledge. The Seattle Seahawks have cap space and draft capital, while the San Francisco 49ers already have a business tie with Crosby through their ownership of Leeds United.

“The Raiders should be in no rush, but if there are teams willing to meet the astronomical price tag expected for Crosby, they should be all ears,” wrote Adam Hill of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
