Raiders president excited about Klint Kubiak’s offensive focus

Raiders team president Sandra Douglass Morgan is fully behind new head coach Klint Kubiak, praising his offensive mindset and no-nonsense approach.

Speaking Thursday at the NIAA flag football 4A and 5A state championships at Allegiant Stadium, Douglass Morgan expressed enthusiasm for the direction of the franchise.

“I’m excited that our (general manager) John Spytek, obviously (minority owner) Tom (Brady) and (owner) Mark (Davis) brought in someone with a strong offensive mind,” she said. “We’re here to support Klint and the entire football team with everything we can with respect to business operations, and that starts with having great events here at the stadium.”

Douglass Morgan presented trophies to the 4A champion Sierra Vista and runner-up Green Valley. She called the event a highlight of her job.

“This is incredible,” she said. “This is almost like the highlight of my job to be able to be here and open up Allegiant Stadium to see these young women fight for each other and compete. That’s the most important thing.”

Several Raiders players attended, including cornerback Darien Porter and linebacker Brennan Jackson, who shared their first impressions of Kubiak. Kubiak, who won Super Bowl 60 as Seattle’s offensive coordinator, addressed the team earlier.

“The first thing he said to everybody is we have a lot of work to do and he’s ready to work,” Porter said. “You can really get behind someone like that. Can’t wait to see what he does this off-season.”

Jackson added: “He’s all business. I think that’s what we need. Just get back to the basics and start preparing for a great year. Faith and football. Me being a religious man, I think it’s important to have values and that he brings a lot of those great characteristics into the building. Excited to get to work with him.”

Douglass Morgan emphasized the organization’s commitment to supporting Kubiak. “I’m excited for this next chapter and to do everything we can as a team to support him. I think it’s pretty no nonsense — it’s all about football. It’s all about the ball. Again, we’re going to do everything we can to support him so that’s what he can focus on.”
