Las Vegas is poised to land the 2029 Super Bowl, with the NFL expected to award the game at its league meetings from March 29 to April 1, according to a source familiar with the plans. The 2029 edition would be the second Super Bowl hosted at Allegiant Stadium, following the 2024 game.
The 2027 Super Bowl is set for SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, and the 2028 game will be at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Las Vegas has become a regular contender in the unofficial rotation of host cities that also includes Los Angeles, Phoenix, Tampa and Atlanta. Nashville could join that list when the Tennessee Titans open their new domed stadium in 2027.
Since Allegiant Stadium opened in 2020, Las Vegas has hosted the Pro Bowl in 2022 and 2023, the NFL draft in 2022, and Super Bowl 58 in 2024. The city has also secured other major events: WrestleMania in 2024 and again in 2025 (April 18-19), the College Football Playoff national championship on Jan. 25, 2027, and the NCAA men’s Final Four from April 1-3, 2028. These events bookend the annual Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix, creating year-round global attention.
Raiders owner Mark Davis said the vision for Allegiant Stadium has exceeded expectations. “It’s always awesome to see vision become reality and it’s actually exceeded it,” Davis told the Review-Journal in January. “For us (Allegiant Stadium) to be ranked No. 1 in the United States in (revenue-generating) stadiums and No. 2 in the world, is quite a feat. It says a lot about Las Vegas as the sports and entertainment capital of the world. Because it’s concerts and sports that are doing it.”
Jeremy Aguero, principal with Applied Analysis, praised the sequence of events. “The fact the folks at the LVCVA and Allegiant Stadium have been able to create a sequence like that has been remarkable,” Aguero said. “I’m sure it was intentional, but somewhat lucky and fortuitous to us. Those events are not just draws when people are here, they’re the things people are talking about for an entire year. That fact that you have them bookend, means you can talk about them for the entire year. You’re talking about WrestleMania; you’re talking about the college football championship and the Super Bowl. They keep us relevant globally the entire time.”
