The Las Vegas Raiders are moving quickly in their head coaching search, bringing in Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady and Denver Broncos quarterbacks coach Davis Webb for second interviews on Monday.
Brady, 36, met with the team in Las Vegas after a virtual interview last week. Webb, who turned 31 on Jan. 22, was scheduled to interview Monday night, a day after the Broncos were eliminated from the playoffs.
The Raiders have also shown interest in Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who is preparing for the Super Bowl. They could reach a verbal agreement with Kubiak before the game, but nothing can be signed or announced until after the Super Bowl if he is the choice.
One candidate is out of the running: former Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel officially reported to work as the Chargers’ offensive coordinator on Monday, ending any possibility of him joining the Raiders.
Brady has worked with elite quarterbacks throughout his career. He won the Broyles Award as the top assistant in college football in 2019 while directing LSU’s passing game, helping Joe Burrow nearly double his passing yards and improve from 16 touchdowns to 60 en route to the Heisman Trophy. In the NFL, Brady spent four years mentoring Josh Allen in Buffalo, first as quarterbacks coach and then as offensive coordinator for the past two seasons.
The Bills led the league in rushing this season under Brady, with running back James Cook winning the rushing title. Brady is also a candidate for the Bills’ head coaching vacancy after the team parted ways with Sean McDermott.
Webb, a former NFL quarterback, is considered one of the brightest young offensive minds despite coaching for just three seasons. He has worked closely with Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, helping the 2024 first-round pick reach the playoffs in both of his seasons. Webb remains close friends with Allen from their time together in Buffalo.
If hired, Webb would become the second-youngest head coach in league history at 31, behind only Sean McVay (30). He would be the youngest current head coach in the NFL.
