Maxx Crosby wants trade, Fox’s Jay Glazer reveals during Super Bowl week

Super Bowl week in San Francisco delivered a bombshell about the Las Vegas Raiders’ star defensive end. Fox NFL insider Jay Glazer, a close friend and workout partner of Maxx Crosby, told Yahoo! Sports on Wednesday that Crosby has no intention of playing for the Raiders again and expects to be traded before April’s draft.

Glazer attributed the rift to the team’s decision to shut down Crosby and place him on injured reserve with two games left in the season, despite Crosby wanting to play through a meniscus injury that required offseason surgery. The Raiders finished 3-14, securing the No. 1 pick, but Glazer said the move permanently fractured the relationship.

“For a guy like Maxx, who is an addict, he needs structure,” Glazer said. “You can’t do that to him. That wasn’t good.”

Glazer said Crosby told him the day he was shut down that he was done with the franchise. Glazer then contacted Raiders general manager John Spytek to explain why playing was important for Crosby’s well-being. At least 20 teams have already reached out to inquire about a trade, according to Glazer.

Glazer believes the trade haul for Crosby, who turns 29 before the 2026 season, could exceed what the Dallas Cowboys received for Micah Parsons — two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark from the Green Bay Packers.

“He and the owner are very close,” Glazer said of Crosby and Raiders owner Mark Davis. “It’s a very cool relationship. They legitimately love each other. He went and talked to him about it and said, ‘I promise you I’ll always be a Raider, but, man, I don’t want to go through another rebuild. I’ve done everything I can for this team.’”

Crosby told the Review-Journal last month he hadn’t spoken to the team in weeks about the coaching search that led to the projected hiring of Klint Kubiak. NFL reporter Dianna Russini added that Crosby has expressed interest in playing for New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel.

Neither Crosby nor his representatives responded to requests for comment, and Raiders officials could not be reached.
