Mark Davis, UNLV legends headline 2026 Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame class

Mark Davis, the owner of the Las Vegas Raiders and the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces, will be inducted into the Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2026, the organization announced Thursday. He is joined by three prominent UNLV athletics alumni: former men’s basketball assistant coaches Tim Grgurich and Mark Warkentien, and former UNLV golfer and PGA Tour pro Ryan Moore.

The induction ceremony is scheduled for May 8 at Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson. The Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame is located in the concourse of that arena.

Additionally, Cliff Findlay will receive the inaugural Legacy Award. With these four new members, the hall of fame now includes 137 inductees.

“The Class of 2026 recognizes a foursome of inductees that has profoundly contributed to the sports landscape in Southern Nevada and an individual that continues to contribute to the vitality of our community,” said chairman Mike Lubbe in a statement.

Mark Davis

Davis moved the Raiders from Oakland to Las Vegas, opening Allegiant Stadium in 2020 and bringing the NFL to Southern Nevada. The stadium has since hosted the Super Bowl, the NFL draft, the Pro Bowl, and WrestleMania. The College Football Playoff national championship (2027) and the NCAA men’s Final Four (2028) are also scheduled for the venue. In 2021, Davis purchased the Aces from MGM Resorts International and built the WNBA’s first purpose-built training facility. The Aces have won three WNBA titles under his ownership (2022, 2023, 2025).

Tim Grgurich

Grgurich spent more than 50 years in basketball, serving as an assistant to legendary UNLV coach Jerry Tarkanian from 1981 to 1992 and was part of the 1990 NCAA championship team. He later coached in the NBA and received the 2018 Tex Winter Assistant Lifetime Impact Award.

Mark Warkentien

Warkentien was an assistant coach for the Runnin’ Rebels from 1981 to 1987 under Tarkanian and was part of UNLV’s 1987 Final Four run. He served as assistant athletic director at UNLV from 1987 to 1991 before working in various NBA roles, including scout and vice president of basketball operations. He was named NBA executive of the year in 2009 while with the Denver Nuggets.

Ryan Moore

Moore was a four-time All-American at UNLV and one of two Rebels golfers to win the NCAA individual title. In 2004, he won the U.S. Amateur, the NCAA individual title, the U.S. Public Links, the Western Amateur, and the Sahalee Players Championship—becoming the first golfer to win all five in the same year. He has been a PGA Tour pro since 2006 and has five tour wins.

Cliff Findlay

Findlay was previously inducted into the hall of fame in 2001 for his play on UNLV’s men’s basketball team from 1967 to 1970 and for his off-court contributions, including support of UNLV and local athletics and founding Findlay College Prep.
