Klint Kubiak has assembled his first coaching staff with the Las Vegas Raiders, a group announced Sunday that blends fresh faces with a few familiar ones. The head coach, hired after a Super Bowl run with the Seahawks, got a late start but still filled all but one position.
Andrew Janocko, a longtime Kubiak lieutenant, will run the offense as offensive coordinator. Rob Leonard, a holdover from the previous staff, remains defensive coordinator. Joe DeCamillis takes over special teams as coordinator.
The Raiders will not have a designated quarterbacks coach. Kubiak, Janocko and assistant head coach Mike McCoy will share duties mentoring Fernando Mendoza, the likely No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft. Seattle is the only other NFL team without a quarterbacks coach; Janocko held that role for the Seahawks last season.
Luke Steckel stays on as tight ends coach after overseeing one of the league’s top tight end groups in 2025. Joe Woods keeps his role as defensive pass game coordinator and defensive backs coach.
Among the new hires is Steve Ferentz, son of longtime Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz, who comes from the University of South Dakota as a defensive assistant. Drew Gaither and Cody Grimm were brought in as defensive quality control coaches.
Matt Capurro, who served as the Raiders’ assistant to the head coach from 2003 to 2008, returns as senior vice president of coaching operations after 15 years in Seattle. Rohit Mogalayapalli joins as director of special projects and game management, a key analytics role.
