Giovanni Guariglia delivered a dominant two-way performance Monday, hitting two home runs and pitching four shutout innings to lead Silverado to a 10-5 victory over host Coronado in a Class 4A baseball matchup.
Guariglia, a TCU commit and senior, went 2-for-4 at the plate with four RBIs. On the mound, he allowed just one hit and struck out six over four innings to earn the win. The Skyhawks improved to 8-7-1 overall.
BYU commit Hogan Hawkins drove in three runs for Silverado, which is ranked No. 2 in the Review-Journal’s Class 4A baseball rankings. Coronado fell to 7-7.
Silverado plays at Cadence on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. Coronado hosts Liberty on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
