Shea Langeliers launched his second homer in as many nights, a 417-foot blast to center field in the seventh inning, and Jacob Lopez delivered a solid start as the Athletics defeated the Seattle Mariners 5-2 Tuesday night at T-Mobile Park. The win extended Oakland’s road winning streak to seven games.
Jeff McNeil also went deep for the A’s, who improved to 2-0 in the three-game series. Lopez (2-1) allowed two runs on seven hits over 5⅓ innings, striking out three and walking one. Scott Barlow got four outs in relief, Hogan Harris retired the final batter in the seventh, and Jack Perkins worked the final two innings, retiring all six batters he faced for his first save of the season.
Seattle’s Cal Raleigh hit his second homer in two nights and fourth of the year, a solo shot in the fifth that tied the game 2-2. Raleigh, who slugged 60 homers last season, went 2 for 3 to raise his average to .177. The Mariners have lost six of their last eight games.
Jacob Wilson delivered the go-ahead double in the sixth inning off Eduard Bazardo (0-1), scoring Nick Kurtz. Tyler Soderstrom had an RBI double in the first for Oakland. Julio Rodriguez went 2 for 3 with a walk, extending his on-base streak to 18 games.
