The Las Vegas Raiders have wasted no time in their search for a new head coach, requesting interviews with two top coordinators and a rising assistant just one day after parting ways with Pete Carroll.
The team will hold virtual meetings with Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, according to sources familiar with the process. Denver quarterbacks coach and pass game coordinator Davis Webb is also on the interview list.
Kubiak, 38, is in his first season with the Seahawks after serving as the New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator in 2024. His Seattle offense ranked third in the NFL this season. The son of former NFL quarterback and head coach Gary Kubiak, he has also worked for the 49ers, Broncos, and Vikings. Kubiak has additional interviews scheduled with the New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals.
Joseph, 53, previously served as the Broncos’ head coach in 2017-2018 and returned as defensive coordinator in 2023. Denver’s defense has ranked third in the league each of the past two seasons. Joseph interviewed for the Raiders job last year before they hired Carroll.
Webb, 30, played quarterback for the Giants, Jets, and Bills over a six-year NFL career before transitioning to coaching in 2023. He was selected by the Giants in the 2017 draft.
The Broncos and Seahawks both earned first-round byes as the top seeds in their conferences, allowing their assistants to interview this week. Other playoff teams’ coaches cannot be interviewed until next week under NFL rules.
The Raiders’ search could also be impacted by the Baltimore Ravens’ firing of John Harbaugh on Tuesday. Harbaugh, 61, coached the Ravens for 18 seasons, leading them to 12 playoff appearances and a Super Bowl victory in 2012. He is the brother of Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh.
