The Las Vegas Raiders didn’t swing for the fences in the 2026 NFL draft, but general manager John Spytek’s methodical approach yielded a solid haul that earned an A- grade from the team’s beat.
After selecting quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the first overall pick, Spytek added nine more players over the final six rounds, focusing on depth along both lines, speed on offense, and a crowded defensive backfield that could pay immediate dividends.
The most intriguing pick came in the fourth round, when the Raiders grabbed Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy. Widely considered a potential first-round talent, McCoy slid due to injury concerns. If he returns to full health, the grade could climb to A-plus.
“If he is actually healthy, this grade probably bumps up to A-plus,” one analyst noted.
Spytek also found a potential contributor in the seventh round, taking N.C. State defensive tackle Brandon Cleveland to bolster the interior of the new 3-4 scheme. Edge rusher Keyron Crawford, selected in the third round, offers upside at a position where the Raiders have no immediate need, allowing him time to develop.
Offensive line depth came in the form of Trey Zuhn, a versatile and experienced blocker. Running back Mike Washington Jr. and wide receiver Malik Benson bring game-breaking speed to Klint Kubiak’s offense. In the secondary, Treydan Stukes is expected to contribute right away, and his close friend Dalton Johnson could also see the field.
“This is just a solid performance by Spytek,” the analysis concluded. “And that’s OK.”
