Monday’s high school sports slate featured offensive explosions across baseball and softball, with several players putting up eye-popping numbers.
Baseball
Palo Verde senior Keimani Johnson went 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles and four RBIs as the Panthers outslugged Mater East 21-14. Coronado junior Matthew Smoot homered, doubled and drove in four runs in a 15-0 rout of Chaparral. Faith Lutheran edged Liberty 5-4 on a walk-off in the bottom of the seventh, with senior Rookie Shepard contributing a homer, a double and an RBI.
In other baseball scores: Arbor View beat Shadow Ridge 6-3; Del Sol defeated Desert Pines 13-2; Mojave earned a forfeit win over Sunrise Mountain.
Softball
Palo Verde senior Taylor Johns crushed three home runs in a five-inning 13-0 win over Green Valley. Coronado senior Bailey Goldberg went 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBIs in a 14-0 victory over Basic. SLAM! Nevada sophomore Naima Ralston tripled and drove in four runs in a 20-0 three-inning win over Desert Pines. Faith Lutheran freshman Zoey TarBush homered, tripled, drove in two runs and earned the win in the circle as the Crusaders blanked Cheyenne 16-0 in three innings. Desert Oasis sophomore Nolly Newbry doubled twice, tripled and drove in three runs in a 17-6 five-inning win over Sierra Vista.

Boys volleyball
Las Vegas senior Max Lindaman recorded 14 kills, nine service aces and three digs in a 25-10, 25-21, 25-19 sweep of Eldorado. Desert Pines senior Kevin Pacheco Jimenez tallied 15 assists, eight digs, two aces and two kills in a 25-17, 25-17, 25-22 win over Valley. Despite 25 assists and three digs from Cadence junior Clive Sanidad, the Cougars fell to Del Sol 25-14, 25-17, 25-20. Cheyenne junior Blake Thompson had 16 kills and five aces but the Desert Shields lost to Rancho 25-22, 25-21, 25-22.
