The Vegas Golden Knights will have captain Mark Stone back on the ice for Sunday’s Game 3 of the Western Conference Final against the Colorado Avalanche, head coach John Tortorella announced. Stone has been sidelined since suffering a lower-body injury in Game 3 of the second round against the Anaheim Ducks.
Stone participated in Friday’s morning skate at Ball Arena and also took part in the optional skate Saturday at City National Arena. His return provides a significant boost to the Golden Knights’ lineup, adding one of their top playmakers and a reliable two-way forward as they aim to take a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Presidents’ Trophy winners.
Meanwhile, Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar is listed as a game-time decision due to an upper-body injury. Game 3 is set for T-Mobile Arena.
