The Las Vegas Raiders will kick off Klint Kubiak’s first offseason as head coach on Tuesday, when Phase One of the NFL’s nine-week program begins. The schedule, released Friday, outlines a timeline that runs through mandatory minicamp from June 6 to June 11.
Under the collective bargaining agreement, most of the program is voluntary. Phase One limits activities to meetings, strength and conditioning, and rehabilitation—no on-field work. Phase Two, lasting three weeks, permits walk-throughs but prohibits offense-versus-defense drills.
Because Kubiak is a new head coach, the Raiders are eligible for an extra voluntary minicamp from April 20-22. The team’s three weeks of organized team activities (OTAs) are set for May 18, 20 and 21; May 26, 28 and 29; and June 1 through June 4. The final four-week phase allows 10 practices total, including 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills, though live contact remains banned.
Transactions
The Raiders hosted free-agent running back Najee Harris for a visit. Harris, a former Pro Bowler with the Pittsburgh Steelers, played three games for the Los Angeles Chargers last season before undergoing surgery for a torn Achilles. He turns 28 this year.
Las Vegas also signed safety Tristin McCollum to a one-year league-minimum contract, the amount for which he was tendered.
