The final week of the regular season is here for Nevada high school spring sports, and the latest rankings show Bishop Gorman holding the top spot in Class 5A baseball with a 22-5 record. Basic (16-8), Palo Verde (19-7), Faith Lutheran (14-11), and Centennial (21-9) round out the top five.
In softball, Palo Verde leads Class 5A at 12-1, followed by Arbor View (19-6), Shadow Ridge (14-5), Coronado (8-7), and Bishop Gorman (9-13-1). The boys volleyball rankings are topped by Centennial (26-5) in 5A, with Palo Verde (17-3) second.
Key baseball matchups this week include Tuesday’s Bishop Gorman at Faith Lutheran game at 4 p.m., and Thursday’s rematch at Faith Lutheran. Basic faces Foothill on Tuesday at Burkholder Park and again Thursday. Desert Oasis and Liberty meet Tuesday and Wednesday.
In softball, Pahrump Valley visits Moapa Valley on Tuesday in a Class 3A showdown. Wednesday features Shadow Ridge at Bishop Gorman at 4 p.m., and Friday’s slate includes Arbor View at Centennial and Coronado at Palo Verde.
Boys volleyball highlights include Centennial at Basic on Tuesday, and Shadow Ridge at Palo Verde on Thursday. The regular season concludes with several rivalry games Friday.
