Tuesday’s high school sports slate featured standout performances across baseball, softball and boys volleyball, with several pitchers throwing complete games and hitters delivering key extra-base hits.
Baseball
Bishop Gorman’s DaMari Hall went 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple and three RBIs to lead the Gaels to a 9-4 win over Durango. Teammate Alec Kajioka also contributed in the victory.
Palo Verde edged Bonanza 1-0 behind a complete-game four-hitter from sophomore Zach Franke, who struck out five. The Panthers’ lone run came on an unearned run in the second inning.
Coronado’s Ryder Metz was dominant on the mound and at the plate, striking out 10 while tossing a complete-game five-hitter, and also going 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs in a 9-1 win over Desert Oasis.
Tech’s Nick Collingbourne struck out eight in a five-inning two-hitter as the Roadrunners rolled past Del Sol 14-0. Desert Pines’ Kevin Ruiz Sanchez went 3-for-5 with two doubles and five RBIs and earned the win on the mound in a 15-0 three-inning victory over Sunrise Mountain.

Softball
Arbor View’s Maliah Harrell went 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs to help the Aggies defeat Centennial 12-2 in five innings. Virgin Valley’s Julia Leavitt also shined, going 3-for-3 with a home run, a triple and two RBIs in a 10-2 win over Boulder City.
Lincoln County swept a doubleheader against Lake Mead, winning 15-0 and 15-2.
Boys Volleyball
Basic’s Porter Hughes recorded 22 kills, 11 digs, three blocks and the match-ending service ace in a four-set win over Arbor View (25-21, 22-25, 25-23, 25-21). Palo Verde’s Jagger Mendenhall dished out 29 assists in a sweep of Green Valley (25-13, 25-18, 25-21).
Cheyenne’s Blake Thompson had 18 kills and six aces in a four-set victory over Valley (18-25, 25-11, 25-23, 25-16). Centennial’s Mau Tuiaana contributed eight blocks, six kills and two aces in a four-set win over Coronado. Foothill’s Derean Sherarer logged 10 assists and four digs in a sweep of Sierra Vista (25-17, 25-10, 25-18).
