Carroll: Raiders’ Season Finale Win Over Chiefs a ‘Step in the Right Direction’

The Las Vegas Raiders closed out their 2025 season with a 14-12 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium, snapping a three-game losing streak and giving head coach Pete Carroll a winning note heading into the offseason.

Carroll, along with kicker Daniel Carlson and quarterback Aidan O’Connell, addressed the media after the game. The win improved the Raiders’ final record to 8-9, while the Chiefs fell to 11-6.

“It’s a step in the right direction,” Carroll said. “We fought hard all year, and to finish with a win against a team like that says a lot about our guys.”

Carlson, who kicked two field goals in the game, including the game-winner, credited the defense for holding Kansas City to just 12 points. “Our defense played lights out,” Carlson said. “They gave us the chance to win.”

O’Connell, who threw for 210 yards and a touchdown, said the team never lost belief. “We knew we could play with anyone,” O’Connell said. “It’s a good feeling to end the season this way.”

The Raiders now turn their attention to the draft and free agency, with Carroll emphasizing the need to build on the momentum. “We’ve got a lot of work to do, but this is a foundation,” he said.
