Daniel Carlson drilled a 60-yard field goal with eight seconds remaining to give the Las Vegas Raiders a 14-12 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium. The win snapped a losing streak and ended the Raiders’ season on a high note, though the team still secured the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Raiders’ offense struggled all day, failing to reach the end zone. Quarterbacks Kenny Pickett and Aidan O’Connell split time but could not generate consistent drives. Running back Ashton Jeanty provided a spark on the ground, but the unit managed only field goals.
Defensively, the Raiders took advantage of the Chiefs’ depleted lineup. Kansas City started its third- and fourth-string quarterbacks and rested several starters. Las Vegas forced two turnovers and recorded eight sacks, including a safety by defensive end Tyree Wilson. The defense also held after a late fumble gave the Chiefs a chance to take the lead, forcing a field goal instead.
Special teams earned the highest marks. Carlson made all four of his field-goal attempts, including a 55-yarder early in the fourth quarter and the game-winner from 60. Punter AJ Cole pinned Kansas City deep in the fourth quarter, setting up the safety. All five of Carlson’s kickoffs resulted in touchbacks. However, Dylan Laube’s fumble on a kickoff return marred an otherwise stellar performance.
The coaching grade reflected the possibility it was Pete Carroll’s final game at age 74. The Raiders finished the season with a 4-13 record.
