UNLV will begin its first season under coach Dan Mullen by playing Sam Houston State on the road Aug. 30.

The Rebels then host UCLA on Sept. 6 and Idaho State on Sept. 13 at Allegiant Stadium before finishing their nonconference schedule by facing Miami (Ohio) on the road Sept. 20.

UNLV’s Mountain West schedule includes home games against Air Force (Oct. 11), New Mexico (Nov. 1), Utah State (No. 15) and Hawaii (Nov. 22), as well as road games against Wyoming (Oct. 4), Boise State (Oct. 18), Colorado State (Nov. 8) and UNR (Nov. 29).

Kickoff times and TV information for all games have yet to be released.

“Very excited about our schedule,” Mullen said in a statement. “There are great home games for Rebel fans to come and enjoy watching their team play. It’s going to be a very competitive season in the Mountain West this fall so we need the support of the Rebel Family every single week to help give us the best home-field advantage in the conference. We’re going to go out and put on a great show here in Las Vegas!”

Mullen was hired Dec. 12 after coach Barry Odom left to take over at Purdue.

The Rebels were 19-8 in two seasons under Odom and made back-to-back bowl appearances for the first time in program history. UNLV also made the Mountain West title game two years in a row. This year’s championship game is set for Dec. 5.
