Taylor Hall scored twice and Brandon Bussi made 28 saves as the Carolina Hurricanes shut out the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0 in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final on Sunday at T-Mobile Arena, winning the series 4-2 and capturing the franchise’s second championship.
Hall opened the scoring at 14:22 of the first period, beating goaltender Carter Hart with a wrist shot. Jackson Blake doubled the lead at 11:08 of the second period, and Jordan Staal added an empty-net goal with 1:47 remaining in the third.
The Hurricanes, who also won the Cup in 2006, became the first team to shut out the Golden Knights in the series. Vegas had averaged 3.2 goals per game through the first five contests.
“We knew they were going to come out hard, but we stuck with our structure and Bussi was incredible,” said Hurricanes coach Rod Brind’Amour. “This group earned every bit of this.”
Hart finished with 23 saves for the Golden Knights, who were seeking their third Stanley Cup title. Vegas won the Cup in 2023 and 2025.
“It’s a tough way to end, but Carolina played a great series,” said Golden Knights coach John Tortorella. “We gave it everything we had, but they were the better team tonight.”
Brandon Bussi, who posted a .935 save percentage in the series, was named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner as playoff MVP.
