Gray’s 3-point barrage fuels Aces’ 5th straight win in Portland return

The Las Vegas Aces made a long-awaited return to Portland on Thursday night and left with a 105-89 victory over the Fire at Modo Center, extending their winning streak to five games.

Guard Chelsea Gray erupted for a season-high 29 points, connecting on nine 3-pointers — six of which came in the first half. She also grabbed five rebounds in the dominant performance.

The game marked the Aces’ first trip to Portland since the original Fire franchise folded in 2002. The team was revived as a WNBA expansion franchise this season.

With the win, Las Vegas improved to 7-1 on the road to start the season.
