A’ja Wilson Joins Michael Jordan on Wheaties Box as 2025 Cover Athlete

Las Vegas Aces center A’ja Wilson has been selected as the newest face of Wheaties, the General Mills company announced Tuesday. Wilson will appear on the iconic orange cereal box, joining a lineage that includes Lou Gehrig, Michael Jordan, and Michael Phelps.

“Being on the cover of a Wheaties box is one of those things you grow up dreaming about,” Wilson said in a statement. “For me, this is about showing every little girl what’s possible when you dream big. I’m proud of the work, proud of the journey, and proud to partner with a brand that celebrates champions who keep pushing the game forward.”

The 2025 season was historic for Wilson: she became the first player in WNBA history to win MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, Finals MVP, and the scoring title in the same year, leading the Aces to their third championship in four years. Over her eight-year career, the 2018 Rookie of the Year and three-time champion has established herself as a generational talent.

“A’ja is the definition of a Wheaties Champion, a generational talent whose leadership, resilience, and commitment to empowering others have set a new standard,” said Emilie Knox, vice president and business unit director for Wheaties at General Mills. “She doesn’t just dominate the game; she creates space for more girls and women to see themselves in it. We’re proud to celebrate A’ja on the iconic orange box as she racks up wins on and off the court.”

Wheaties has featured more than 850 athletes on its packaging since 1934, when Lou Gehrig became the first. Michael Jordan holds the record with 18 appearances, followed by Michael Phelps and Aaron Rodgers.
