The Golden Knights traded forward Evgenii Dadonov to the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday for the contract of defenseman Shea Weber.
Dadonov had one year remaining on his deal with a $5 million cap hit. The Knights attempted to move him to the Anaheim Ducks at the trade deadline, but the deal was voided because of Dadonov’s 10-team no-trade list.
Weber spent last season on long-term injured reserve and is unlikely to play again. He carries a $7.857 million cap hit for the next four seasons.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
